After the original date fell victim to the snow, our athletes took a break from their festive celebrations to compete in a 1 kilometre fun run at the Bicester Sports Association playing fields in Chesterton. As in previous years, it was very impressive to see so many pupils from Chesterton competing against athletics club runners. We had a number of great individual performances, with Christian Carry (2nd) producing a storming run against older competitors. Holly Mclellan (4th) and Jessie Ward (5th) also scored points for the team score (Chesterton's top 3 runners), which helped us regain the schools' trophy that we won in 2015.
There were a number of athletes who put in impressive performances, including: Bobbie Brelsford (6th), who made an improvement of 1 minute 43 seconds; Olivia Morgan-Griffin, who finished 8th despite only being in Year 2 and improved by 44 seconds on last year; and Finlay Haynes (Year 2), who was only beaten by Year 4s and older and improved by a full minute on last year's time!
Congratulations to all our pupils and a special mention to our younger runners, who will hopefully be back next year!
