Evacuation Experience
To kick start our topic on World War 2, children experienced being evacuated. They started by acting out a normal day in the 1930s. Then, they shared their emotions about how children might have felt when war was declared. Children were given their identity badges and were told which cities they were being evacuated from. After boarding a train to a countryside village hall (Oak Class!), they experienced being chosen by some very interesting villagers (all acted by Miss Crockett!). The children showed great interest in this topic and were fascinated to learn how Bicester was part of the evacuation plans of World War 2.
